Rolfe Regular Council Meeting

Monday, January 12, 2015

Rolfe Community Center, 6:30pm


Mayor Julie Lancaster called the meeting to order at 6:30pm Council present Al Kuchenreuther, Dan Allen, Carl Struve, Tom Andersen and Joe Ramaekers.  Andersen/Struve moved to approve the consent agenda including agenda, 12/8/14 minutes and bills.  All ayes. Carried

De Sindergard gave treasure’s report for November and December. Reviewed daily transactions, deposits, accounts payable, bank reconciliation and payroll. Everything appears to be fine.

Mayor comments – sidewalks need to be cleared post office will not deliver mail.  Recycling committee has put board over the plastic compartment to encourage people to crush plastic.

RAMS Event Center is changing their liquor license to a six month and does not need approval at this time.

Mayor red second reading of Ordinance NO. 204 an ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Rolfe, Iowa, by amending and/or  removing sections of chapters 21, 41, 55, 63,90, 92, 110, 135 and 136 for  the purposes of codification.  Ramaekers/Kuchenreuther moved to approve the second reading of Ordinance No. 204.  Ayes. Kuchenreuther, Struve, Allen, Ramaekers and Andersen.  Carried.

Council reviewed three quotes for updating the meter reading system and meters.  Council would like more information on one of the quotes.

Kuchenreuther /Struve moved to the approve the CDBG expenses Bolton & Menk – Engineering Services – Total Cost - $6,005.00, CDBG - $4,430.00,k City - $1,575.00.   MIDAS – Administration through 12/31/2014 – Total Cost - $168.00, CDBG - $168.00, City – 0.00. All ayes. Carried.

Council reviewed health insurance plans.  Andersen/Kuchenreuther moved to use the Enhanced Blue 1500 Gold Plan which is closest to current plan.  All ayes. Carried.

Council reviewed employee manual on overtime pay.  Council decided to go to an 8 hour work day and allow Holiday and Vacation pay to be included in actual time worked for computing overtime, and to remove compensatory time.  Resolution to me approved next meeting.

Clerk received grant to help with placement of siren. Council re-discussed tornado siren placement.  Allen/Ramaekers moved to put the Siren near the lift station area.

Kuchenreuther/Allen moved to set the public hearing on FY16 Budget to February 9th at 7:00 pm.  All ayes. Carried.

Ramaekers/Kuchenreuther moved to adjourn at 7:44pm.  All ayes. Carried.
