Rolfe Regular Council Meeting

Monday May 11, 2015

Rolfe Community Center, 6:30pm

Mayor Julie Lancaster called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.   Council present Al Kuchenreuther, Dan Allen, Tom Andersen and Carl Struve.  Absent Joe Ramaekers. Andersen/Struve moved to approve the consent agenda including agenda, 34/11/15 minutes and bills and three building permits. All ayes. Carried.

De Sindergard gave treasurer’s report.  Kuchenreuther/Struve moved to approve treasurer’s report.

Council comments:  Struve showed plastic bag that had blew out of recycling truck.  Mayor stated the issue has been corrected already.

Clerk commented that we were awarded a CDBG housing rehabilitation grant and will be attending meeting on May 21st for the grant.  New website is up and running.

Mayor handed out a copy of council code of conduct for council members to review the policy as a reminder.  Also stated working on redoing the nuisance abatement forms.

Citizen comments:  Scott Lancaster addressed the council that he will be taking his old chicken coop down in the fall.   Rick Johnson asked questions about new website.

Discussion on chickens.  Kuchenreuther/Allen moved to allow Dan Petersen to have no more than 10 hens and 1 rooster with the exception of any complaints rooster will be removed.  All ayes. Carried.

Mike DeWolf updated council on golf course water project.  If they don’t get good water they will have to shut down.  Allen/Andersen moved to forgive water use for 2 years to help offset their expenses for installing the new line.  All ayes. Carried.

Mayor Lancaster opened the public hearing at 7:04pm on the Budget Amendment for the FY 14/15 Budget.

No representation from Rodeo, no action taken.

Kuchenreuther/Struve moved to hire Mosquito Control for mosquito spraying for the 2015 season.  All ayes. Carried.

Kuchenreuther/Struve moved to appoint Curt Sindergard to the Pocahontas County Economic Board and Rick Johnson as the alternate.  All ayes. Carried.

Discussed the removal of the brick building on Walnut Street.  Allen/Andersen moved to hire Al Brandjoi to remove the cement block for no more than $1000.00.  All ayes. Carried.

Old chicken coop was addressed during citizen comments, no action taken at this time.

Andersen/Allen moved to adjourn at 7:16pm.  All ayes. Carried.
